New Haul - Vintage Littlest Pet Shop Mommy Swan and Snuggling Babies

I remember seeing this vintage Kenner Littlest Pet Shop Mommy Swan and Snuggling Babies and thought I'd never be able to find one decently priced — but I did! Granted it's only the swans (the most important part by the way), I'm pretty happy just being able to find an affordable listing.

I got these babies for $35 with free shipping on eBay! A full set of these I've seen being sold for over $200 — which I know is way overpriced but they're pretty rare from what I've observed so sellers are gambling on the possibility that someone wants them so bad that they're willing to fork that over (and it happens). After all, I'm just a 30-year old amateur collector just currently building a collection of my childhood toys, nothing crazy like antiques. There are collectors in the big leagues out there who see $200 as chump change.

Anywho, these needed a bit of TLC like my last haul and a Clorox wipe made easy work of that. The mommy swan has a bit more yellowing than I had expected (totally okay with that) so it needs something more than a wipe but I've made strides with just a 5-minute clean.

As you can see, it wasn't too bad at all. Just a little bit of cleaning was required.

As for the rest of the set, I'll just have to wait for it to come along. The missing pieces are the collars for the two babies, the base with the cat tails, the magnetic "wand", and the magnetic purple butterfly.

When I lost out on bids or saw "sold" items of pieces I've been wanting, I used to feel defeated and that I'd never get it (geeze, so negative right?) but after a few months I've come to realize that I just have to be a patient and they'll come around. So that's what I'll leave you with — be patient, have fun, and happy collecting : )

Have a beautiful life 😘
